Mortal Kombat X on PC Refund Petition
To Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios,
On April 14, 2015, WB Games and NetherRealm Studios released “Mortal Kombat X” for Playstation 4, XBOX One and PC. Upon release, the PC platform was plagued with many issues such as the loss of save data and problems with the netcode. It wasn’t until June 2, 2015 that some of these issues would first be addressed and patched. Even after the patch, the PC platform would suffer from ongoing issues not present on Playstation 4 or XBOX One.
On January 20, 2016, it was announced that WB Games and NetherRealm Studios would be releasing “Mortal Kombat XL“. “Mortal Kombat XL” is an updated version of “Mortal Kombat X” that includes the original game as well as all additional DLC that has been released thus far. This new game, as well as the “Kombat Pack 2” DLC, were revealed for release on Playstation 4 and XBOX One on March 1, 2016, but not for PC. It was later confirmed on NetherRealm‘s official Twitter account that neither “Mortal Kombat XL,” nor “Kombat Pack 2,” would be available for PC owners.
Furthermore, future support for PC owners of “Mortal Kombat X” has been discontinued, as the platform will not be receiving the latest netcode update. This is terrible news for those that paid full price for a game that has received less than a year’s worth of support. PC owners have gotten short-changed on this game from the time it was released, yet paid the same price as console owners.
Due to the growing inequality towards PC owners, we are asking that WB Games and NetherRealm Studios offer a full refund to those that purchased “Mortal Kombat X” for PC. Thank you.
