The New AZBros.com

Welcome to the new home of AZBros.  If you’ve been to AZBros.com recently, you’re certainly noticing a lot of changes.  Whether you’ve been here before or not, we hope you take a few moments to look around.  First, though, let me give you a backstory on AZBros and what we have planned going forward.

AZBros-NEW-Logo-PNG-2016Before there was AZBros, there were just three brothers from Arizona.  The one thing we could always agree on was video games.  We all grew up playing them.  In fact, we have never known a world without video games.  I’m the oldest and I was born around the same time the NES was released in the United States (please, don’t do the math!).  While we didn’t always get along, video games made putting up with each other a little easier.  Just a little.

As we’ve gotten older, wiser and more mature, our love for video games has remained.  Are you surprised?

So why did we decide to start AZBros.com?  Good question.  I guess a good answer would be because we’re passionate about games and enjoy expressing that.  I personally have spent way too much time online conversing on online message boards and YouTube videos about my favorite games.  When I get into a game, I really get into it.  I’m the guy that makes a huge forum post talking about something random.  So instead of doing that, why not have an outlet to put that effort to good use?

The AZBros name has been around for a while.  We’ve used it while playing games long before we’d even considered creating a website, YouTube channel or Twitch stream.  Naturally, when it came time to create those things, we were fortunate to already have the name.  We got serious about the AZBros name and brand around the time Super Smash Bros for Wii U was released.  We already had registered the name on Miiverse when we purchased a Wii U, but that was it.  After Smash, I wanted to register the name on some online forums and on Twitter.  I figured being on Twitter would be a good way for people who challenged us online to get in touch.  This was also around the time we created our Twitch channel, though we has no means of streaming anything.

Fast forward to November 2015.  After claiming the AZBros name on just about every platform I could think of, I wondered if the domain might be available.  “What would we even do with a domain name anyway?”  I was curious, so I checked to see if it was available.  Spoiler alert: it was!  In what I have to believe was some sort of divine intervention, GoDaddy just so happened to be running a special on domain names.  Thus, the name would be ours.  But what to do with it…

After a brief discussion, we decided to start a simple online blog.  There we’d post our thoughts and opinions on gaming stuff we cared about.  That lead to posting current news on games we followed, as well as fun and unique sections just for the fun of it.  This free blog was becoming a nice hobby and we had a few people coming to check it out.  Coinciding with all of this, we had invested a little to get a capture card so we could start streaming on Twitch.  Nothing fancy, just enough to get a watchable stream.  Little by little people starting finding the stream and complimenting us on our presentation.  Even though we were nowhere near the top streams, it was nice that people noticed our the effort that was put into making the stream the best it could be.

AZBros-OFFICIAL-Logo (Gradient)What about this new site, you ask?  Well, it’s going to be similar to the old site, but much bigger and better.  Our old site was a free blog and this is a legitimate website.  Over the past month, we’ve spent a lot of time getting it looking nice and preparing some new content.  One thing you’ll probably notice is the new logo.  Our original logo was very simple and represented us well.  Our new logo, however, embodies what the AZBros brand has become.  No longer is it only about three brothers from Arizona, but now anyone that loves video games can join the AZBros movement.

We’re still three brothers that love video games.  That will never change.  While this website may be young, our plan is to continue growing it as big as possible.  How big can it become?  I guess we’ll find out.  We’re just fans and this site is built for the fans.  Our goal is to provide news and content that people will enjoy.  Hopefully you’ll take a few moments and look around.  If you do… thank you!  We’re always happy to hear your feedback and suggestions so we can further improve.

Stay tuned to AZBros.com for more good stuff!
