World of Warcraft Patch 6.2.3 coming 11/17
Great news for World of Warcraft players, Blizzard has finally confirmed that Patch 6.2.3 will be released with the scheduled maintenance on Tuesday, November 17th.
Patch 6.2.3 comes with a number of changes and new content for players to conquer. Cross realm mythic raiding will finally be brought to Hellfire Citadel, an awesome change that will no doubt speed up progress for lower population realms, as well as open many new sales opportunities for high end guilds such as my own. Everybody wins!
Along with cross realm being enabled, Hellfire Citadel receives another pretty big “nerf” due to Valor point upgrades being reintroduced. Being able to boost your entire raid’s item level by 10 is going to trivialize any difficulty left in the instance, and make farm nights a breeze. There is no valor point cap this time around, but there are only so many ways to obtain it.
- Completing the first random Heroic Dungeon of the day
- Completing Mythic Dungeons
- Completing weekly Bonus Event quests (except for the Pet Battle Bonus Event)
- Completing a Raid Finder wing for Highmaul, Blackrock Foundry, or Hellfire Citadel for the first time each week.
I’m not thrilled about yet another grind in this expansion, but being able to clear our farm even faster and easier is always something i’ll accept.
Remember those cataclysm dungeons that everyone loved so much like Stone Core, End Time, and Grim Batol? Well they’re making their return in the form of Timewalking dungeons. I personally haven’t ran many timewalkers but with the valor point reward and the chance to obtain the new Infinite Timereaver mount from any boss i’m going to be spending probably too much of my time in there. I’ll probably never get the mount, I hate grinding unless it makes my character perform better in raids. Aside from the valor and the mount being added to make players endlessly farm timewalker dungeons, gear drops will also be getting an upgrade. Now timewalking gear ranges from 685-725……Mythic Gorefiend level loot from a 5 man, great idea.
Along with the Infinite Timereaver mount from timewalking dungeons, Archimonde, on heroic difficulty or higher, will drop a mysterious fragment of dark power that begins a quest which will lead to the Grove Warden mount. Yes the Grove Warden mount is the giant flying magic moose mount that everyone thought would be obtained through the Blizzard store. I actually can’t believe that Blizzard didn’t slap it in their store with a price tag of $25, must be the holiday spirit creeping in.
Patch 6.2.3 also comes with some buffs to death knights, warriors, shaman, paladin, and druids, since starfall wasn’t powerful enough already.
Last but certainly not least, 6.2.3 begins the transition from Warlords PvP season 2 to season 3, that means a new round of PvP gear up to item level 740. If anyone still actually does PvP that is.
Overall it looks like a solid patch, with an entire year of farming Hellfire Citadel ahead of most players, Blizzard really had to add more things to do in game. With garrisons being a disaster this whole expansion, there really wasn’t much else to do when you’re not raiding. Adding valor points, new timewalker dungeons with actual rewards, and cross realm mythic will do a lot for the game.
