Kombat Kast Scheduled for 1/24; Tri-Borg Incoming?

Netherrealm Studios just announced via Twitter that the next Kombat Kast is officially scheduled for this Sunday, January 24, at 3:45 PST.  What’s even more interesting is the image included with the tweet, which can be seen below.

The subtitle for this Kombat Kast is “The Cyber Initiative“.  Typically the subtitles hint at what content will be featured.  In this case, “The Cyber Initiative” is obviously a reference to the Lin Kuei’s secret program used to transform their members into Cyborgs.  Coincidentally, their three most famous test subjects, Sektor, Cyrax and Smoke, are all set to return to Mortal Kombat X via the Kombat Pack 2 DLC.  They are now known collectively as Tri-Borg!

I think it’s safe to assume that Tri-Borg will be the first character released in the new Kombat Pack.  Furthermore, expect to see brand new gameplay and further details pertaining to the character during this Kombat Kast.  Tune in to Netherrealm’s Twitch stream this Sunday at 3:45 PST to catch all the action!  Also, check back with AZBros.com for our thoughts on Tri-Borg, Kombat Pack 2 and everything else discussed in the Kombat Kast.

  • Wow, I really thought Tri-Borg would be the final character released. Nice surprise by Netherrealm! Hopefully he’s as good as he looks. All three variations look like they’ll be fun, which is a change from most fighters. Maybe this means his release isn’t far off. They haven’t even made Kombat Pack 2 available for purchase yet.

  • So it looks like they won’t be going by the order the characters were shown in the trailer, interesting.
