*Spoilers* I Love Pokemon Sun and Moon (3DS)
Hey guys, welcome back to Lockjaw’s Lair, where it’s all about me… Lockjaw. Alright, so I just finished up Pokemon Moon the other day and wow, I loved it. I would say it’s definitely my favorite Pokemon game up to date out of the ones I’ve played (all except generation 5). So why did I enjoy this Pokemon game so much more than the other ones? Well, because it was a fresh new take on Pokemon, while still having all the stuff I love about the series. Also, the changes they made to some familiar things to the series helped simplify the game and make it more enjoyable overall.
So let’s talk about some of those changes. Ride Pokemon over HM’s, LOVE THIS IDEA! Now I don’t have to have specific Pokemon on my team just so I can fly and surf. In fact, my final team that I brought to the Elite 4 (Spoiler Alert!) had no flying type or water type Pokemon. Another minor change that I felt was much needed, was the change they made to how you fish in Pokemon games. There’s just one fishing rod (About time!) and there were designated fishing spots set up for you throughout the game. Fishing was never a thing I did a whole lot of in previous Pokemon games for the fact that you had to either set it as a button (which is usually your bike, until later games, of course, where you get multiple buttons to set items to) or keep going to your bag and selecting it, which was extremely annoying. So thank goodness they changed this, because now I can actually take advantage of and enjoy this feature a little bit.
Now let’s talk about the Pokemon in the Alola Region. Well, I loved them as much as the rest of the game. There were a lot of really cool new additions to the Pokemon family. Some I’ve even added to my own personal list of favorite Pokemon. Allow me to name a few. Turtonator, a Fire/Dragon type, whose shell can actually cause explosions, and has the nerve to have its back facing the opponent during battle…. awesome. Salandit/Salazzle, which is Poison/Fire type, is another one of my favorites. Now, I picked up a female Salandit during my playthrough of the game for the fact that only the female can evolve into Salazzle, and I love evolutions. But the coolest part about this Pokemon is the ability Corrosion, which allows Salazzle (or Salandit) to poison steel types and even other poison types…. awesome.
Okay, so another new feature to Pokemon Sun and Moon that is by far my favorite new thing to the series is the addition of Alolan Forms. Best idea ever, whoever came up with it should get a raise. It takes Pokemon from older generations (I believe only generation 1 this time around) and changes there appearance/type. And in case you’re wondering, my favorite Alolan Form is Persian. The Alolan Persian has a darker color to it and also a more rounded face as opposed to its counterpart. Also, the Alolan Persian is Dark Type, instead of Normal Type.
Okay guys, I could go on all day going over the many reasons why I love Pokemon Moon so much, but I gotta end this at some point. And who knows, maybe I’ll do a part 2 if I feel like I need to express how great this game is any further. But that’s gonna do it for this Lockjaw’s Lair, so be sure to check out everything else we got here at AZBros.com before you head out. Also, let me know what you thought about Pokemon Sun and Moon in the comment section below, I’d love to see what you guys have to say about the game as well. I’m Lockjaw, and I’ll see you next time!
